Just bought the Spark LE and I was wondering if anyone has tried to sync it with other external midi devices (instruments)? I will admit that the iOS app has gone wonky on me a few times but nothing that's ever interrupted playback and made me regret spending $90 on it In a lot of ways I actually like it better than my Tempest. I pretty much feel the same about any drum machine short of the Analog Rytm or maybe the Toraiz, which are pretty pricey. It's one of those things that would be great to have among your vast collection of drum machines but not as your only one. The Drumbrute is fun, but the sounds get old fast. SparkLE is massive bang for the buck and after playing the Drumbrute recently I'd take it over that any day. It has a roller, beat repeat, some other fun real time FX for jamming, and one of my favorite mute/solo arrangements of any drum machine. (you can't play it with a keyboard, but you can automate pitch to create leads/basslines/etc. Has a load of good FX and in a pinch can double as a VA synth to an extent.

The inbuilt kits sound great, you can load samples AND it has a full blown modular studio for creating your own sounds.
#ARTURIA SPARK TECHNO PORTABLE#
SparkLE + iPad makes for a pretty portable little setup. Use your laptop for designing kits, then save 'em onto your iPad and use that for performance / jamming / etc.
Second, you can use it either with a laptop OR an iPad which is great. (btw I'd be considering the Electribe as well if I were you!)
It's quick and simple, though you do need to look at the screen for some things (mainly assigning parameters to the knobs, changing functions of the XY pad, and loading kits/sounds.) The pads are not as good as Maschine or the Tempest, but better than the Korg Electribe and a hell of a lot better than the Rytm. I sold one and regretted it, so I jumped on a demo being blown out at GC recently.įirst, unlike Maschine which feels like a sampler (unless you add the Jam), SparkLE feels like a proper drum machine.
